Comparative evaluation of Cranberry extract mouth rinse, Ozonized water and 0.2% Chlorhexidine on salivary Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacilli count: An in-vivo study

Background: Cariogenic bacteria has always been considered as the highest risk factor for dental caries. The eradication of microorganisms from oral health environment is important and hence may remedies have suggested its removal a better health.
 Objectives: To assess minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) Cranberry extract to determine efficacy compare effect three products on salivary Streptococcus Mutans count lactobacilli count.Materials Methodology: A randomized control, double blind, parallel-group clinical trial was conducted 75 subjects age group 15 years who were divided into study groups ,Cranberry , Ozonized water Chlorhexidine mouthwash. Microbial analysis done by colony counter unit at baseline, 8thday 15th day using mouthwashes. inter-group variations analyzed One way ANOVA followed Tukey’s post hoc Repeated measures intra-group different time intervals.
 Results: mutans Lactobacilli showed statistically highly significant difference in reduction between (p=0.001) 8th when compared with mouth wash count. had shown count.Conclusion: test mouthwash effective reducing microbial count, similar wash. Recent advances allow community be exposed much care.
